It was a bit nippy but that did not deter anyone from enjoying the garden party with a purpose that interior decorator Linda Sedgwick-Sharpe held
at her Cobourg home. “Lets Talk Decorating” was an afternoon of
demonstrations by Linda and other local decorators. All proceeds from
the event raised about $1,500 for the chemotherapy program at Northumberland Hills Hospital. After some wine and cheese, Linda
graciously gave her 85 guests a tour of her home and studio. Kudos
to Linda for her fund raiser. You can be sure they’ll find good use for
the money.
Interior Decorator Linda Sedgwick-Sharpe hosted a decorating seminar referred to as “Decorating with Yuletide Flair” at Barnum House Museum
on November 25th. Guests learned how to create magnificent swags,
garlands and table centerpieces. Advice was given on decorating for every occasion from a quiet family gathering to a social event. A special draw
with proceeds going to the N.H.H. featured a grand prize of a $1,000 room makeover. The draw was won by local resident Anne Raymond.

Linda Segwick-Sharpe, Interior Decorator and floral designer Sandy
Winkler hosted “Decorating with Yuletide Flair at the home of Linda
Sedgwick-Sharpe. They spent the morning trudging through the bush
cutting cedar, dogwood, pine and sumac. They took it all back to Linda’s
and then had a splendid gourmet lunch of pear and parsnip soup, chicken marsala and to die for cake, all prepared by Linda. Then they started the
class and with a few extra things provided by Linda, they learned how to
make some wonderful decorations for their homes. They raised $500 for
the United Way. Great ideas and a wonderful day for all involved.
